Tom Petty fans are in for a real treat on Sunday at Concerts in the Park with the Petty Party! And, if cycling is your jam, the Manhattan Beach Grand Prix cruises back into town on Sunday with cycle races to suit everyone. Don’t miss the Village Runner’s beloved running race, the Manhattan Mile, plus organized bike rides by the AFCEA for STEM make it a revolutionary kind of weekend!

🚴 62nd Manhattan Beach Grand Prix @ Joslyn Center, Live Oak Park, MB

The Manhattan Beach Grand Prix returns this weekend, right next to Live Oak Park in Manhattan Beach. It’s the 2nd oldest one-day bike race in the country!
Cyclists from around the country will compete on a course known for sharp turns and quick sprints. It’s the closest thing to the Tour De France this side of Sepulveda!
The event includes a full day of cycle races, including:
Elite Men’s and Women’s races
Amateur races for all age groups
Kids’ Fun Races
The Manhattan Mile, a running race open to all abilities (see below!)

Celebrate the Manhattan Beach Grand Prix with Village Runner by joining the Manhattan Mile on July 13. This fast-paced net-downhill race starts and finishes at Live Oak Park.
All participants will receive a commemorative t-shirt. There’s $4,500 in cash prizes for the top three overall male and female finishers, and awards for the top three finishers in each age group. Register here.
🚴 AFCEA-Los Angeles 6th Annual Cycling Event To Benefit STEM Education @ N. Harbor Dr. and Portofino Way, RB

More cycling fun!
Register for AFCEA-LA Cycling for STEM event on Saturday. Riders can choose from three routes: 20, 40, or 65 miles. (Reg. includes AFCEA cycling jersey)
The 20- and 40-mile rides will head north from Redondo Beach, following the Marvin Braude Bike Trail to the Temescal Canyon parking area.
The 65-mile ride includes a scenic loop through Palos Verdes.
There will be three supported rest stops: Marina Del Rey, Temescal Canyon (tentative), and Abalone Cove Park. SAG support will be available throughout all routes.
