This Weekend in the South Bay

Get ready, Beaches! Summer officially kicks off tomorrow, June 20th - the Summer Solstice.
It's the longest day of the year, celebrated worldwide:
At Stonehenge, in England, they watch the sunrise magically align perfectly with the stones. In Sweden, they dance around maypoles; in Norway and many other countries, they party around huge bonfires!

Paddleboard Race: From Pier to PV and back (15-miler & 3-miler)

If you’ve ever been paddleboarding, you’ll know it’s a supreme test of mindset, balance, power, and endurance- most definitely not for the faint of heart! The 15-mile race is a local qualifier for the grueling 32-mile Catalina Classic, with athletes heading south to Palos Verdes, swinging west to the R10 buoy, and then charging back to Hermosa Pier. There’s also a shorter 3-mile race for mere mortals who are up for something a bit more doable!. Anyway, whether you’re in it to win it or just spectating, it’s shore gonna be fun:)
