Here’s the scoop for you on the South Bay’s celebrations and fireworks shows - plus the Village Runner 5K and the HB Ironman (Run, Paddle, Chug).

4th of July Celebrations & Fireworks

Celebrate the 4th of July with fireworks over the water at King Harbor in Redondo Beach. The show starts at 9:00 PM sharp.
Bring a blanket, some snacks, and settle in anywhere along the marina, beach, or harbor walkways. Rooftop views and sand spots fill up early.
Presented by the City of Redondo Beach and local partners—it’s a blast every year!

🎆 4th of July @ Stevenson Field, 408 Eucalyptus Drive, El Segundo
July 4, Friday | Daytime Fun 10 AM | Fireworks at 9 PM
El Segundo’s annual 4th of July bash kicks off around 10 AM with daytime activities including hula hoop contests, a water balloon toss, a watermelon eating contest, and a pie eating contest.
Classic races include the 3-legged sack race, youth sprints, toddler dashes, and a diaper derby for the littlest crawlers.
Evening entertainment includes live music by The AstroYachts, food booths, and the fireworks display at 9 PM!

🎆 4th of July Celebration @ LA Galaxy Sports Complex, @ 555 Maple Ave., Torrance
July 4, Friday | 6:45 PM
The City of Torrance’s celebration kicks off with food trucks open at 6:45 PM, and DJ Ozzie, who will be playing live from 7:00 to 8:45 PM, right before the fireworks show lights up the sky around 8:45 PM.
First-come, first-served viewing spots are available at the LA Galaxy Sports Complex and the West parking lot of the Courthouse (825 Maple Ave). Blankets and beach chairs are recommended.

🎆 Fourth of July Celebration and Drone Light Show @ Civic Center, RPV
July 4, Friday | 3:00 PM- 9 PM
Celebrate the 4th in PV with an afternoon/evening of family-friendly fun. Enjoy live performances by the Palos Verdes Symphonic Band, along with some country music with line dancing! Plus, food trucks, a beer and wine booth, craft vendors, and plenty to keep the kids busy—from inflatable rides to games and activities. The night wraps up with a spectacular drone light show!

A great spot to watch the Redondo fireworks show!

Celebrate the 4th and enjoy one of the top spots to catch the fireworks at either one of Shade Hotel's rooftop fireworks bashes - the ‘Red, White & Aqua’ or the ‘BBQ and Boom!’ For the ultimate VIP experience - book a Cabana!

A great spot to catch the PV Drone Light Show, head to Terranea Resort to celebrate the 4th of July evening— there’ll be face painting, line dancing, magic, and a movie (Captain America, of course!) all under the stars. (Drone show 8.45 PM movie at 9 PM)

Daytime Fun on the 4th!

🎆 Start your 4th with the Village Runner’s 5K Run  - it’s not too late to register!
Lace up and kick off Independence Day with the Village Runner 32nd Annual 4th of July 5K Run/Walk & Firecracker Dash, sponsored by UCLA.
There’s a costume contest in the Coffee Cartel parking lot- and then the race itself starts at 8:00 AM on Catalina Ave. between Palos Verdes Blvd. and S. Elena Ave.

All 5K participants get a festive race tee, age group awards, and cash prizes for the top three male and female finishers. Bring the kids! They’ll love the Firecracker Dash—and yes, every little finisher gets a medal.

The HB Ironman is a July 4th South Bay tradition: a 1-mile run, 1-mile paddle, and a 6-pack chug! Volunteers run it, and all proceeds go to charity.

Final registration is today, Thursday, July 3, from 3–7 PM at 6th and Cypress Ave. The event takes place tomorrow, Friday, July 4 at 8:00 AM at 29th Street and the beach. Participants must arrive by 7:30 AM. (Bring your own board and six pack!)
